Course Overview
The purpose of the symposium is to provide knowledge to physicians and other health care professionals who care for children. To accomplish this, a series of talks, including a half day subspecialty session, emphasizing new information will be presented with ample time for questions from the audience. Some topics included this year are: antibiotic drug therapy, sports medicine, dermatology and other essential topics for the pediatric practitioner.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
Evaluate hip pain in children and athletes.Discuss with and counsel patients regarding cardiac risk factors.
Evaluate children for common and uncommon gynecological issues.
Discuss symptoms and effects of West Nile Virus.
Diagnose and treat common pediatric dermatological disease.
Evaluate patients with suspected lupus erythematosis.
Describe the results and benefits of a bronchiolitis protocol.
Who Should Attend
The conference is designed for pediatricians, family practice physicians, emergency medicine physicians, pediatric specialists, pediatric nurses, nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants who wish to update their knowledge on important topics in pediatric care.
Accreditation
Children's Medical Center is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Credit Designation
Children's Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Conflict of Interest
It is Children's Medical Center's policy that participants in CME activities should be made aware of any affiliation of financial interest that may affect the speakers' presentations. Each speaker has completed and signed a conflict of interest statement. This will be disclosed at the beginning of each presentation.

Returned Check Policy
An administrative fee of $35 will be charged for all checks returned for insufficient funds.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
Refunds on paid registrations will be issued only for written cancellation requests received by April 1, 2013. All refunds will be issued a $35.00 administrative fee. After April 1, 2013, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GRANTED.
