Help Kohl's Help Kids

January 14, 2013

Everyone knows books are good for children, but Kohl's brings new meaning to the idea of books benefiting America's youth. Since the inception of Kohl's Cares in 2000, Kohl's has turned their $5 books and plush stuffed animals sold year-round at their Dallas-area stores into more than $3 million to benefit the patients cared for by Children's Medical Center. Because of generous support from our community, in 2012 the Kohl’s Cares program raised an unprecedented $532,157 for Children’s. Thank you to Kohl’s and to everyone who purchased a Kohl’s Cares item. Through your support, you are making a difference in the lives of our young patients.

You can support our patients by stopping by any of the 19 Dallas-area Kohl's stores and purchasing a Kohl's Cares plush toy or storybook. Through the Kohl's Cares program, any time you buy one of these items it benefits Children's.

Since 2000, Kohl's Cares has given more than $3 million to Children's

All of the net profits from the sale of Kohl's Cares merchandise at local stores is donated to support the Kohl's Sports Health and Wellness Outreach Program at Children's. This program was designed to educate child athletes, coaches and parents about how to avoid injuries while playing sports, and what actions to take if a child is injured. The program also promotes overall healthy living and wellness.

Next time you are shopping at your local Dallas-area Kohl's, please consider purchasing a Kohl's Cares toy. They make great birthday gifts and teacher thank yous. The more merchandise sold in these locations, the larger the donation to Children's.
