Since the inception of Kohl's Cares in 2000, Kohl's has turned their $5 books and plush stuffed animals sold year-round at their Dallas-area stores into more than $2.5 million to benefit the patients cared for by Children's Medical Center.

As one of three beneficiaries, Children’s received $10,000 from the 2011 fashion show. The money will be used to help support the hospital’s Child Life department and Funnyatrics clown program. Children’s was excited when it recently learned that KidneyTexas was going to be able to give the hospital an additional $25,000 to help fund its Nephrology department.

On Friday and Saturday, January 13 and 14, the team will be wearing Children's branded hockey jerseys at the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco and each of the jerseys will bear the name of a Children's patient. A percentage of proceeds from ticket sales and merchandise during the Winterfest game series will benefit programs and services at Children's.
