Women's Auxiliary Scholarship
The Women's Auxiliary at Children's offers educational assistance for nursing and allied health students who are registered for, or currently enrolled in, an accredited program. A limited number of students may receive up to $1,000 per semester to cover tuition, student fees and books. Assistance also is available for specific certificate programs, determined on a per-program basis, up to the equivalent of $1,000 per semester. Educational assistance is granted and paid on a per-semester basis.
Students or prospective students of accredited nursing or allied health programs may submit applications if they:
Are junior or senior level, full- or part-time, or have been accepted for admission to an accredited program.
Maintain an overall grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or cumulative 3.0 prior to being accepted into an accredited program.
To receive assistance for a second or succeeding semester, a student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and submit a request no later than 30 days before the next semester. An official transcript must be submitted at the end of each semester.
Students will be asked to sign agreements to work full time for 12 months at Children's for each academic year they receive educational assistance, or six months for each semester.
If recipients are offered employment with Children's, but decline the position, they will be obligated to repay the full amount plus interest calculated at the current prime interest rate at the time the offer is declined.
Upon completion of the screening process, if recipients are not offered employment with Children's, they will be obligated to repay the full amount plus interest.
If positions are not available at the time of graduation, employment offers may be extended up to six months. If positions are not available within six months, recipients do not need to repay the educational assistance.
Repayment plans will be authorized on an individual basis. The duration of repayment will not exceed four years.
