Autism: Center Events and Workshops

The Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities is dedicated to raising awareness about autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. To do this, we participate in and sponsor numerous community events each year.

Stephanie’s Day

CBS 11 and TXA 21 would like to invite you to participate in Stephanie’s Day, “A free resource fair for children with special needs and their families.” Stephanie’s Day was introduced to North Texas in October, 2004 and has emerged as a premier event in North Texas. The event was founded by Steve Mauldin, former President and General Manager of CBS 11 and TXA 21, in honor of his daughter Stephanie (who has autism), and was designed to:

  • Provide a safe, fun environment for family activities
  • Bring parents of special needs children together to network
  • Allow local non-profit organizations the opportunity to share information regarding their services

Sensory Friendly Performance of “Stuart Little”

The Dallas Children’s Theater is doing a sensory friendly performance of “Stuart Little” on Saturday, July 12th, 2014.
