Autism: Community Service Providers
The Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities provides a wide range of services to meet the needs of our children and families. We are specialized if not unique in the ability to provide medical evaluations and treatment of complex cases together with gold-standard psychological evaluations. However, with the dramatic rise in prevalence of autism, even with the considerable expansion of services in our Center, we cannot meet all community needs. There are times when individuals will need to seek assistance and support from others in the community.
In particular, long term supportive services for the intellectually disabled are provided at other Centers in the community, and many school systems are well able to evaluate older children.
In order to make the search for outside providers a smooth process, we have created a database of local groups including dentists, genetic counselors, psychiatrists, physical therapists and speech/language providers.
Click the Resource Database for a list of providers in your area. We do not provide this list as a recommendation, as services and staff at different centers are always changing, but as starting point for families seeking information.
