The program provides the trainee with the opportunity to acquire clinical expertise in the care of critically ill infants and children, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the pathogenesis of severe illnesses. In addition, the program offers an array of research training opportunities that helps fellows learn to ask and answer scientific questions that relate to the genetic, molecular, cellular, physiologic or clinical aspects of pediatric critical care medicine. The division and collaborating faculty have particular expertise in molecular biology, molecular pathophysiology and translational clinical research.
