Description of services:
Comprehensive services for the diagnosis and treatment of infants, children and adolescents with gastroenterological disorders.
Procedures performed or problems diagnosed and treated:
Examples of problems diagnosed and treated include:
- General gastroenterology
- Chronic vomiting
- Chronic diarrhea
- Gastrointestinal allergy
- Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis)
- GI vascular malformation
- Feeding disorders
- Chronic abdominal pain
- Gastrointestinal bleeding
- Motility disorders
- Intestinal failure/Short bowel syndrome
- Intestinal transplantation
- Pancreatic diseases
- Nutritional assessment
- Acute and chronic liver disease
- Liver transplantation
Procedures performed include:
- Diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy
- Sigmoidoscopy
- Diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy
- Polypectomy
- Esophageal dilation
- PEG placement
- ERCP
- Rectal suction biopsy
- Capsule Endoscopy
- 24-hour esophageal pH probe monitoring, single and dual channel
- Remicade infusions
- Percutaneous liver biopsy
- Impedence Esophageal Monitoring (Gastroesophageal Reflux)
- Breath hydrogen analysis
- H. Pylori breath test
- Access to sleep study lab (pH probe with polysomnogram)
Information for referral sources:
- An insurance referral from physician or referral source is required.
- Pre-authorization is required by some insurance plans.
- Patient instructions for specific tests will be provided when the appointment is scheduled.
- To avoid unnecessary testing, have the family bring relevant medical records, test results and X-rays to the appointment.
- Services are provided in close cooperation with the patient’s referring physician.
- Diagnosis, evaluation and recommended treatment information is provided promptly to the referring physician.
Please provide the following when calling to schedule a patient for a diagnostic examination:
- Patient name and date of birth
- Problems to be addressed
- Insurance/referral information
- Clinical findings or symptoms which caused the patient to visit physician
- Work, home and cell phone numbers and address for family.
Patients are seen by appointment only from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
