Autism Spectrum Disorders

Approximately 4,500 children under the age of 18 in Dallas County have an autism spectrum disorder, or ASD, which includes the diagnosis of autism, Asperger's disorder, pervasive development disorder and Rett's disorder.

The family-centered autism program at Children’s provides a range of comprehensive services to children of all ages who have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder or are suspected of having this diagnosis. We offer psychiatric, psychological and neuropsychological assessment, medication management, care coordination, school consultation, educational programming, and group and individual therapies.

Our multidisciplinary center incorporates the expertise of clinicians and researchers from UT Southwestern, Children’s Medical Center subspecialty clinics, and the University of Texas at Dallas Center for Brain Health and Callier Center for Communication Disorders.
