Exchanging cards and hanging ornaments on the tree during the holiday season are traditions many families embrace. To make it even more meaningful, the Women's Auxiliary to Children's Medical Center offers cards designed by patients and a Christopher Radko™ ornament inspired by a former patient's artwork.
Former patient Jensen "Jake" Moock Jr. is a 7-year-old who loves to draw. In 2007, Jake painted his interpretation of a wintry landscape with trains, mountains and penguins — just for fun. His watercolor was used for a Children's holiday card in 2007 and now is the inspiration for a one-of-a-kind ornament designed by Christopher Radko™ exclusively for Children's. Read more about Jake's story.
All of the proceeds from the ornament will go to Children's to support Critical Care Services. The ornament is being sold for $55 at all Children's Gift Shops, at the downtown Neiman Marcus during the annual Adolphus Neiman Marcus Children's Parade Dec. 6 and at the Jesuit College Preparatory School Holiday Bazaar Dec. 6. The glass ornament also may be ordered online.
The card selection includes 10 holiday cards, six holiday photo cards, four thank you cards, five all-occasion cards and $10 contribution cards to honor friends and loved ones.
The cards are available at local Tom Thumb stores. Pre-boxed packages contain 20 cards and 20 red envelopes for $12. The product also is available online and in all Children's Gift Shops. All proceeds directly support quality care for the patients at Children's.
