Children’s awarded for benefits programs

Children's Medical Center has been honored by The Southwest Benefits Association with its 2008 Best of Class Benefits Solutions Award for innovative employee benefits programs. The award was presented for the Children's Retirement Choice program introduced in 2007.

Measurement of this program's effectiveness has shown increased employee participation and improvement in employees' satisfaction with their benefits. The Southwest Benefits Association is a regional non-profit established to foster relationships and support the educational growth of employee benefits professionals.

Children's has also earned the Morehead Institute's Above and Beyond Award, which recognizes the tremendous progress made by all hospital employees to make Children's a better place to work and grow. After a 2005 Employee Opinion Survey, the hospital's Senior Leadership Team worked with employees from throughout the organization to develop action plans for improvements in many areas. The next survey in 2007 showed that the cooperative approach had led to improvements in 96 percent of those areas.

Children's is one of five organizations nationally that received this award.

As the primary pediatric teaching facility for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Children's is the only academic hospital in North Texas dedicated exclusively to the comprehensive care of children from birth to age 18.
