CHC Tennis Tournament Starts Oct. 2

Children and teens ages 8 to 18 are invited to grab their rackets and meet on the court this fall for the 19th annual Children Helping Children Junior Singles Tennis Tournament.

The tournament was founded by Pam and Ken Sumrow, whose son, Clint, was treated for Ewing's sarcoma in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's when he was 5 years old. To learn more about the Sumrow's inspiration for starting the tournament, watch the following video.

Each participant has the goal of raising $250 in pledges from friends and family members for pediatric cancer research and programs. Capital Bank One hosts the event, which has raised more than $2 million since its inception.

An Auction Party will kick off the tennis weekend on Friday, Oct. 2, at Embassy Suites Dallas-Frisco, and the tennis tournament will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3-4, at High Point Tennis Center in Plano.
