Children's named to 100 ‘Most Wired' list

Children's once again has been named to the "Most Wired" hospitals list for 2008.

The list is sponsored by Hospital and Health Networks magazine to promote the effective use of information technology in achieving clinical and operational excellence, and is now in its tenth year. Children's has made the list four times in the last seven years, including in both 2006 and 2007.

Not only did Children's make the list again, but it also made the magazine cover, with Christopher Durovich, president and chief executive officer, and Pamela Arora, vice president and chief information officer, both pictured.

The list is based on the magazine's Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study that asks hospitals to report on how they use information technology to address five key areas: business processes; customer service; safety and quality; workforce; and public health and safety.

The award will be given out during a special presentation at the Health Forum/American Hospital Association Leadership Summit July 25-27 in San Diego.
