What started out as a geometry project turned into a generous $10,000 gift to Children’s from the New Tech High School at Coppell. The freshmen and sophomores created a beautiful quilt utilizing what they learned in class from their teacher, Mrs. Osterberger. The quilt sold at the school’s fundraising event, a themed Mardi Gras dinner. A portion of the gift will support Crohn’s research, a topic that has touched the life of Elliot Bell, a New Tech student and a Children’s patient.

In 2008, more than 30 community groups hosted fundraising events that benefited Children's. These events raised nearly $800,000 to support specialty areas including: the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Children's Medical Center Legacy, The Heart Center, summer camps and many more.
