To Children's Medical CenterLeadership Welcome
We are honored to be Chairs of The Children's Trust for 2009. We joined The Trust in 2002 when one of the founders came to us with the idea of an educational, philanthropic and social group of individuals and families working together to benefit Children's. We had just had our first child and the time seemed right, and we are so glad we did. Since that time, both of our children have visited Children's on multiple occasions, fortunately not for anything serious, but we now understand how incredibly blessed and fortunate we are to have such an incredible facility so close to home.
The Trust has cumulatively gifted $465,000 in support of Children's, and our members have generously contributed many times more in additional personal gifts. The Trust accomplished many great things in 2008, including the completion of a mulit-year strategic planning process and the provision of our largest gift ever to Children's, $140,000. Our mission and vision statements, coming out of our strategic planning process are as follows:
Mission: Investing in our children's future
Vision: Creating the next generation of impassioned advocates and leaders committed to supporting Children's achievement of pre-eminence in pediatric health care
We believe that the opportunities provided by The Trust are unmatched, an opportunity to be informed about the hospital through various educational, philanthropic and facility-based events as well as enjoyable social opportunities to spend time with others who support the same mission. In the end, it is a chance to be a part of helping the greater good, that our dues can make a difference in the lives of children which more than anything else has caused us to be so passionate about supporting Children's through our involvement with The Trust.
