Women's Auxiliary
History of Gifts and Service

The Women's Auxiliary to Children's Medical Center Dallas is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to give efficient and effective service to the hospital and its patients. The group raises funds to benefit Children's through projects, programs and events approved by the board of directors of Children's.

The story of the Women's Auxiliary began in 1962. At that time, leaders in the healthcare community recognized the need to organize and extend specialized medical care to children. To meet that need, four healthcare facilities joined together--the Richmond Freeman Memorial Clinic, Children's Hospital of Texas, the Bradford Memorial Hospital for Babies and the Ivor O'Connor Morgan Memorial Hospital for Tuberculous Children--to create Children's Medical Center Dallas.

Women who were active in auxiliaries that served these four facilities joined together to create the Women's Auxiliary to Children's Medical Center Dallas. Since then the group has committed their gifts, time and talents to raise community awareness and much-needed funds for equipment and care to support patients at Children's. Many members now represent second and third generations of families who have made a commitment to serve the health and well-being of children.
