The Children's Trust was established in 2002 and plays a valuable role in helping Children's Medical Center fulfill its mission to make life better for children. Members of the group consist of couples and individuals passionate about pediatric healthcare and dedicated to providing leadership through service and philanthropic support to the hospital. Since its inception, The Trust has grown to include nearly 650 members and has given approximately $325,000 to Children's from annual membership dues alone. These monies have been used to purchase specific items identified as critical needs by Children's and then selected by The Trust membership for funding.
As a benefit of joining The Trust, members are invited to attend exclusive educational and social events. Spring and fall educational forums focused on current pediatric healthcare trends and relevant issues allow members to meet medical experts from Children's and experience an insider's view of behind-the-scene operations of the hospital. The Trust hosts a popular spring Dine Around event, and members and their families are extended invitations to the Texas Stampede and to the Neiman Marcus Adolphus Children's Parade and private brunch. There are also additional opportunities during the year to both volunteer and to provide leadership through child advocacy issues and fund-raising activities.
There is no specific age requirement to join. Members are often parents of young children, although individuals and couples also are members. Annual dues are $500 per couple or $250 for individuals. The Children's Trust members learn about the mission and future direction of Children's through a variety of activities and member benefits.
Membership is by invitation only to persons who are interested in and want to support Children's Medical Center. For more information about The Children's Trust, send an email to thechildrenstrust@childrens.com or call 214-456-8360.
