Care of neonates and pediatric patients is all we do. As the only Dallas healthcare facility that deals exclusively with a variety of diseases and disorders among children from birth to age 18, Children's is a private, not-for-profit facility whose mission is: to make life better for children. New nurse graduates must have a Texas license or Temporary Texas GN permit or meet the criteria for Nurse Licensure Compact before they can be employed at Children's. Additionally, CPR/BLS certification for the healthcare provider is required for employment.
Yes. Clinical staff go through an extensive clinical orientation in addition to general orientation.
As a new nurse graduate, you will be assigned a clinical preceptor to assist you as you learn the hospital's policies and procedures. The preceptor is a valuable resource person who will help you become part of the Children's family.
Nurses at Children's can enjoy work/life balance through flexible scheduling handled by individual units. You will work either day/night rotations or straight shifts. Most full-time nurses work three 12-hour shifts.
Children's is proud to offer among the most competitive salaries in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We are pleased to provide above-market shift differentials, including $6 per hour for weekends and $4.50 per hour for nights. Differentials are added to your base hourly rate of pay.
