At Children's Medical Center
Children's Legacy to begin opening in fall 2008
Children's Medical Center Legacy will open in phases beginning in fall 2008, and will grow to a full inpatient facility within 12 months including:
- Limited emergency services
- Four surgical suites
- On-site pediatric transport
Children's Legacy will have a capacity for 72 beds. In the opening phase, 36 of those beds will be available.
Children's Legacy is designed to serve a broad array of healthcare needs for a huge and growing population of children. The medical staff will include specialists from UT Southwestern, providing a vast base of talent and knowledge. Care will be provided at the Children's location that best meets the patient's needs.
The Children's Legacy Ambulatory Care Pavilion
The Children's Legacy Ambulatory Care Pavilion, which has moved from across the street to the main campus, offers the largest suburban group of pediatric specialists in the nation. The 120,000-square-foot Pavilion includes 48 exam rooms, a full-service outpatient laboratory, a pharmacy and imaging services. The campus, located on a 68.7-acre site, has green space preserved to create an environment of healing and tranquility for patients and families.
