Children's organized the Safe Kids Dallas Area to help reduce the number of preventable injuries, which are the No. 1 killer of children under age 14.
Campaign efforts target the use of car seats, bicycle safety, drowning prevention and public policies advocating child safety. Educational programs that train community advocates are the Coalition's primary focus.
Childhood injury prevention also is one of the most effective ways to reduce healthcare costs. Prevention efforts not only save society money, but protect children from needless suffering and pain.
